Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year with the Lakeside High School Orchestra!

I am so excited to be welcomed as the newest member of the music program at Lakeside. We will continue to have our three orchestras, Sinfonia, Philharmonia and Camerata, composed of over 130 musicians, who perform at least 7 concerts each year. Our Private Lesson Program is conveniently held after school to give students one-on-one instruction by professional musicians. In addition, on sectional days, Atlanta-based professional string players instruct small groups of students based on instrument sections. Guest clinicians and conductors, including Atlanta Symphony Orchestra musicians, teach our students at Lakeside during their class times.
This year we accepted an invitation to perform on the grand stage in Stone Mountain at the Yellow Daisy festival on Thursday, September 6th!

The Lakeside High School Orchestra Association (LHSOA) supports the endeavors of the Lakeside Orchestra Program. LHSOA is a volunteer association composed of dedicated parents who help plan events, organize volunteers, and send communications. Parents and community members are vital to making our program the success it is, so please consider volunteering in any capacity that works for you! Click HERE to volunteer! In order to support these students, we ask for everyone to join our booster organization. Please complete your membership form and return it to the lock box in the orchestra room.

Everything we do in the Lakeside Orchestra Program is geared towards providing your child an exemplary and enriching musical education.

Throughout the year, we will be posting important events on our calendar and in the Newsletter. Be sure to sync the LHS Orchestra Calendar with your family’s calendar, and "Like" Our Facebook Page!

"Every once in a while we have feelings so deep and so special that we have no words for them. Music names them for us, only in notes instead of in words. It's all in the way music moves -- we must never forget that music is movement, always going somewhere, shifting and changing, and flowing, from one note to another; and that movement can tell us more about the way we feel than a million words can."
~Leonard Bernstein
